Derivation of the formula for the filtration coefficient by application of Poiseuille's law in membrane transport

On the basis of Kedem-Katchalsky equations a mathematical analysis of volume flow (Jv) of a binary solution through a membrane (M) is presented. Two cases of transport generators have been considered: hydrostatic (Dp) as well as osmotic (DP) pressure difference. Based on the Poiseuille's law we derive the formula for the membrane filtration coefficient (Lp) which takes into account the membrane properties, kinetic viscosity and density of a solution flowing across the membrane. With use of this formula we have made model calculations of the filtration coefficient Lp and volume flow Jv for a polymer membrane in the case when the solutions on both sides of the membrane are mixed

The situation of the third sector in Russia, i.e. the civil society structures independent from the state, is worsening on a regular basis. The Kremlin’s actions aimed at paralysing and destroying the independent non-governmental sector seen over the past four years have been presented as part of a struggle for the country’s sovereignty. This is above all a consequence of the Russian government’s efforts to take full control of the socio-political situation in the country while it also needs to deal with the geopolitical confrontation with the West and the worsening economic crisis. The policy aimed against non-governmental organisations is depriving the public of structures for self-organisation, protection of civil rights and the means of controlling the ever more authoritarian government. At the same time, the Kremlin has been depriving itself of channels of co-operation and communication with the public and antagonising the most active citizens. The restrictive measures the Kremlin has taken over the past few years with regard to NGOs prove that Russian decision-makers believe that any social initiative independent of the government may give rise to unrest, which is dangerous for the regime, and – given the economic slump – any unrest brings unnecessary political risk

Indywidualne zainteresowania badawcze, poglądy oraz doświadczenie przełożyły się na wielowątkowość poruszanych zagadnień. Publikacja zawiera zarówno artykuły o charakterze teoretycznym, Zgromadzony materiał, mimo różnorodności poruszanych problemów, pozwolił na wyodrębnienie pięciu grup tematycznych. Pierwsza grupa obejmuje prace podejmujące wieloperspektywiczną refleksję nad szkołą jako instytucją, do której trafi a dziecko sześcioletnie, w której dostrzegana powinna być i rozwijana podmiotowość ucznia. Druga grupa tematyczna obejmuje teksty, których autorzy skupili się na problematyce dojrzałości szkolnej. Kolejną grupę zagadnień reprezentuje pięć prac poświęconych tematyce specjalnych potrzeb rozwojowych i edukacyjnych. Kolejną grupę zagadnień reprezentują opracowania poruszające problematykę rozwiązań metodycznych. Ostatnie dwa teksty wyróżnione zostały nie ze względu na wspólną problematykę, ale ze względu na specyfikę i wagę podejmowanych problemów. Autorami są studenci i doktoranci skupieni wokół Międzywydziałowej Grupy Badań nad Mitem przy Kole Naukowym MISH UJ. Działalność grupy opiera się na przekonaniu, że wybrana przez nią kategoria badawcza stanowi pomost między wieloma dziedzinami współczesnej humanistyki. Za cel stawia sobie wymianę doświadczeń i wiedzy miedzy nimi, pobudzanie do dyskusji, której rezultatem byłaby wspólna definicja badanego fenomenu lub tylko bardziej świadome posługiwanie się narzędziami poszczególnych nauk. "Rocznik Mitoznawczy" pomyślany jest jako publikacja cykliczna, "znacząca etapy" do tego celu. W tomie pierwszym wypowiadają się między innymi filozof, literaturoznawcy komparatystyczni, religioznawcy, antropolodzy i socjolog.The texts published in the first volume of the "Yearbook of Mythological Studies" present a wide spectrum of possible methods of researching myths. The authors are gathered around the Inter-faculty Research Group of Mythological Studies at the Jagiellonian University. The group's activity is based on the conviction that the selected research category is a bridge between many areas of contemporary humanities. The goal is to exchange experiences and knowledge between them, to stimulate discussion, which would result in better understanding of the phenomenon being studied and a more conscious use of the notion in particular sciences. Studiów Międzywydziałowej Grupy Badań nad Mitem" tworzą wybrane artykuły uczestników ogólnopolskiej konferencji naukowej "Narrare necesse est: o potrzebie i trwałości mitu w świecie odczarowanym" (WP UJ 2007). Patronami refleksji prowadzonej podczas konferencji byli Odo Marquard, Leszek Kołakowski i Max Weber, myśliciele stawiający pytanie o możliwość oderwania w toku historii opowieści ludzkich od wymiaru sakralnego. Pomysły metodologiczne młodych mitoznawców zostały skonfrontowane pomiędzy przedstawicielami różnych dyscyplin i ośrodków akademickich.Second volume of the "Yearbook of Mythological Studies. Works of the Inter-faculty Research Group for Mythological Studies", consists of selected articles of the participants of the nationwide scientific conference "Narrare necesse est: on the need and permanence of the myth in the disenchanted world" (Jagiellonian University 2007). The patrons of the conference were Odo Marquard, Leszek Kołakowski and Max Weber, thinkers who put a question about the possibility of detaching human stories from the sacred dimension in the course of history. Od pamięci biodziedzicznej do postpamięci

Na tom niniejszy składają się teksty powstałe w oparciu o trojakie spotkania: pierwszy rodzaj stanowiły wykłady prowadzone przez zaproszonych gości, reprezentujących różne dziedziny czy pola badawcze, które w pewnym niezbędnym uproszczeniu podzielić można na historiografię (Ewa Domańska), filozofię (Agata Bielik-Robson), literaturoznawstwo i studia nad pamięcią (Michael Rothberg), filozofię literatury (Michał Paweł Markowski). Wykładom towarzyszyły warsztaty, których prowadzący przedstawiają swoje teksty w części drugiej, a na część trzecią składają się zapisy wystąpień panelowych. Tego typu sesje zajęciowe siłą rzeczy odznaczają się zarówno sporą intensywnością (różnego rodzaju spotkania od rana do wieczora), jak i nieuniknioną rozmaitością spojrzenia, co zresztą stanowi jeden z ogromnych plusów podobnych przedsięwzięć. Kolejnym jest nieco bardziej „personalistyczne” zetknięcie się nie tyle z tekstem, co z postacią autora, a zatem i z osobowością badacza. Klamrą spinającą wszystkie wydarzenia stała się pamięć, bardzo różnie pojmowana i traktowana, a owa różnorodność punktów wyjścia i spojrzeń na formy oraz miejsca funkcjonowania pamięci przerodziła się w bogactwo doświadczeń „nadawców” oraz obfitość doznań (także tych odciskających się w pamięci) „odbiorców”.This volume comprises texts created on the basis of three-fold meetings: the first kind were constituted by lectures led by invited guests, representing various fields and areas of research, which, in some necessary simplification, can be divided into historiography (Ewa Domańska), philosophy (Agata Bielik-Robson), literary and memory studies (Michael Rothberg), and philosophy of literature (Michał Paweł Markowski). The lectures were accompanied by workshops, whose leaders present their texts in the second part of the work, and the third part is made up of notes from panel talks. As per the nature of these types of sessions, they present themselves as highly intense (various meetings from morning until evening), as well as showing the unavoidable variety in outlooks, which is one of the major advantages of such events. Another advantage is a slightly more ‘personalist’ encounter, not so much with text, but with the figure of an author, and thus also with the personality of a researcher. What became the idea bringing all these activities together was memory, understood and treated in very different ways. The variety of starting points and views on the forms and places of the functioning of memory then transformed itself into an abundance of experiences of the ‘originators’ and the richness of feelings (also of those imprinting themselves in memory) of the ‘receivers’
